When NashvilleVoyager contacted me and asked if they could interview me for a feature in their "Most Inspiring Series," my first thought was that they had to have me confused with someone else! I mean, come on.. me? Inspiring? Yeah, right!
Well, they clearly saw something in me that I didn't see in myself; however, after completing this interview I was quite honestly inspired by myself! By how far I've come in just a few years. By my dedication, passion and drive. By my resilience. By my accomplishments and everything I've overcome.
Moment of truth: graduating in May of 2020 was just simply NOT FUN. And not in the sense that I was upset I didn't get to sit in a gym full of people I've never seen before and shake the hand of a man I've never personally met. Honestly, I was more than happy to skip the graduation ceremony!
No, the not-so-fun part came after graduation, when you realize the entire world has essentially shut down, no one is doing anything and absolutely NO ONE is trying to hire some 22 year old girl to work their social media account and get all the BTS of their red carpets, award shows, events... you know, all the things that WEREN'T HAPPENING.
Well, all I have to say now is: 2020, thank you for happening. Because if you hadn't, I probably wouldn't be here right now. Like literally RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW, writing a blog post on MY WEBSITE that is funded by MY BUSINESS.
2020 pushed me in a direction I probably never would've gone in had I not been forced to. I never thought of myself as an entrepreneur - heck, that kind of thought was terrifying to me! But now that I am one, I can't imagine doing anything else.
So thank you, NashvilleVoyager, for allowing me to take a step back and be inspired by all that I am and all that I've done.
